ENGINE DJ TO SERATO
1. Importing your Engine DJ playlists to MIXO
- Make sure Engine DJ is closed
- Import > Engine DJ
- Wait for the page to parse, then select your playlists and click ‘Import Engine DJ’.
- When re-importing from Engine DJ, MIXO will check each file to see when it was last updated and only re-analyses tracks if they have been updated more recently than the existing track in MIXO
- Existing playlist and playlist tracks are also updated automatically, so any changes to playlists are reflected in MIXO.
2. Export your playlists to Serato
- Quit Serato
- To export individual playlists or your entire library from MIXO go to EXPORT > SERATO.
- If you are saving to an external drive change the export folder location
- Click EXPORT SERATO
- Open Serato and your library will match your MIXO export
MIXO also provides an option to update your track's ID3 tags with metadata and cues in Advanced Export Options > Update ID3 Tags. See our guide: Export Track ID3 Tags to Serato. When using this option, make sure you wait for the 'Export ID3 Tags progress' to complete before opening Serato.
MIXO exports directly to serato by saving *crate* files to the *drivename/Serato/Subcrates* folder in the correct Serato format.
Notes
Serato needs your tracks to be stored on the same drive you export your crate to.
Backups
MIXO will automatically backup your DJ Libraries every time you export.
It's also a good idea to regularly backup your source library and computer.
