Export Track ID3 Tags to Serato

If you're exporting to Serato and you want to export cuepoints (and other metadata), then you'll want to export the data to the ID3 Tags in your track files directly.

Serato can't read track data from an XML or other database file format, instead it will check each individual track and read the data from the track. Other DJ software also has this option, although most will read from a database file.

It can also be useful to export to ID3 Tags to keep your track data up to date, even if you are not exporting to Serato.

To export ID3 Tags while also exporting to Serato: MIXO > Export > Serato > Advanced Export Options > Update ID3 Tags > Ticked

To export ID3 Tags without exporting to Serato: MIXO > Export > ID3 Tags > Update Track ID3 Tags

When Exporting to Serato, you will have the option to ‘Update ID3 Tags’ by clicking on ‘Advanced Export Options’.

Once toggled, the track file will be updated with any metadata changes you’ve made in MIXO, overwriting any existing information. This includes track title, artist name, beat grids, track comments, cue points etc.
Here is an example of the track metadata before and after exporting to Serato and updating ID3 tags.
