EXPORT TRACK ID3 TAGS TO SERATO V2
Serato reads track data, such as cue points and metadata, directly from the ID3 TAGS of individual track files rather than from a central database or XML file. Exporting to ID3 tags ensures your metadata - including titles, artist names, beat grids, comments, and cue points - remains up to date within the files themselves.
HOW TO EXPORT ID3 TAGS
You can update your track files either during a Serato export or as a standalone process:
WHILE EXPORTING TO SERATO:
- Navigate to EXPORT -> SERATO.
- Click on ‘ADVANCED EXPORT OPTIONS’.
- Ensure ‘UPDATE ID3 TAGS’ is TICKED.
WITHOUT EXPORTING TO SERATO:
- Navigate to EXPORT -> ID3 TAGS.
- Select ‘UPDATE TRACK ID3 TAGS’.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
- OVERWRITING DATA: once toggled, the track file is updated with metadata changes made in MIXO, overwriting any existing information in the file.
- SUPPORTED FILE TYPES: MIXO can export ID3 Tags to MP3, WAV, AIFF, OGG, AAC, and FLAC.
- AUTOMATIC BACKUPS: MIXO automatically backs up your DJ libraries every time you export. It is recommended to also maintain regular backups of your source library and computer.
