VDJ Beatport playlists export empty to Engine DJ and SC6000
Hi,
Does MIXO 2.19 support exporting VirtualDJ Beatport streaming playlists and hot cues directly to Engine DJ USB for Denon SC6000s?
My test playlist “516” contains eight Beatport tracks. All eight import into MIXO, and newly added VDJ hot cues also appear correctly. Exporting to Engine DJ Desktop 5.1 creates the playlist but shows zero tracks. Direct Engine DJ USB export also creates the playlist, but the SC6000 reports “no tracks found”.
Is this route supported, and if so, what export settings or diagnostic files do you need?
Many thanks,
Andy

However, it’s possible MIXO is missing the conversion for beatport links for Engine. I’m fairly certain Tidal works though.
I’ll investigate and get back to you. 👍

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. I installed the beta and it worked! The playlist, tracks and hot cues now all appear correctly on my SC6000s when accessing the exported playlist from USB. Massive thanks for such a quick fix!
I’m still working out how best to fit this into my workflow, as I normally use Engine DJ for my downloaded tracks. I used a spare USB for this test and may just keep the streaming playlists on a separate one for now.
One thing I’m still looking into: when loading a Beatport track through the exported USB playlist, the overview waveform (the small waveform showing the whole track) doesn’t appear, whereas it does when I load through Beatport directly on the player. Is that expected with this method, or worth investigating separately?
Anyway, thanks again, I really appreciate your time and help - being able to bring my VDJ cues across is a great result!

Yeah the reason is MIXO only has the Beatport track metadata, whereas with local tracks we can build the waveform during export. I guess that’s just a limitation.
Is there a way to analyse the overview waveform in the controller?

Thanks for explaining! Just to clarify, I meant the overview waveform on the SC6000 itself.
When I load a streaming track from the exported USB playlist, the main scrolling waveform appears and works as expected. The overview shows the playback position and cue markers, but the waveform itself is blank. When I load directly through Beatport on the player, the overview waveform appears too.
I haven’t yet found a way to analyse or rebuild it on the SC6000, but I’ll have a play around and see what’s possible. It isn’t a major problem for me, as I can still see my position and the upcoming cues.
The main thing is that I can now bring my playlists and cues from VDJ through MIXO onto the SC6000s, which is a great improvement. Thanks again for your help!
