Rekordbox to Serato grid issues

Hi there,
I ported my entire rekordbox library over to Serato yesterday and a lot of the songs that are very straightforward BPMs (no changes or anything) are analyzed wrong. As well, everything else that is the correct BPM has the beatgrid slightly ahead of the beat (along with all of my cue points). Is there anything I can do besides manually fixing the beat grid of 1200 songs? Thanks.

Hi there,

Rekordbox and Serato have compatible MP3 beatgrids. Generally, there should not be any offset.

Serato relies on data stored in the tracks' tags, so it's possible the tags did not update on export. Please run a quick test with a single playlist (one that is already in Serato) by going to Export -> Track Tags in MIXO, then select only that playlist, then turn off "Update changed tags only" to ensure the tags are definitely updated. Make sure you close Serato first.

Once the tags are saved for those tracks, load up Serato again and play a track from that playlist to see if the grid is better aligned.

The beatgrid still is pretty far off from rekordbox. I even went back to rekordbox after doing all of that and the beatgrids are still perfect on there so idk what's happening.

Please can you send me a track or two that have this issue and I'll try to replicate.

You can upload your file here:

Ok actually, I just tried to re-import my library from rekordbox and it failed to analyze all of my tracks. I remember now that this happened the first time I tried MIXO and I ended up re-analyzing everything. I think that's what messed up the beatgrids.

Yes, if your tracks already exist MIXO won't analyse them again, all the data comes from the Rekordbox database.

You can try updating the tags for a playlist again now, and turn on "Overwrite existing beatgrids", then test in Serato again.

Ok, but when I initially import everything from rekordbox, all the tracks are grey in MIXO and the fail log says that it failed to analyze all of the tracks.

That’s a rare one but usually caused by relocated tracks and MIXO is importing the original path (possibly!) or if an external drive where the tracks are located isn’t connected.

Easiest way to work it out is to add the FilePath column in MIXO and you’ll most like spot the issue immediately.

Let me know!

Another thing you can check is that you are importing from the correct database location - you can click the reload icon on the Import/Rekordbox page and it should match the location as defined in your Rekordbox Preferences where you can change the location for your master database. It’s worth double checking that.

Any luck with this?

Sorta. I re-imported everything and some things are a little better but all of my cue points are consistently slightly ahead of the beat

Are your tracks MP3 or M4A/MP4? And is the offset fix setting turned on in Settings/Advanced?

That’s really strange. It should all work fine!

Please can you send me one of your tracks that has this issue and I will try to replicate.

You can upload it privately here:

Thanks!
