Missing 270 Tracks.....

Scott started this chat 10 days ago

Ok I spent days going through all of the processes and linking my library to dropbox and uploading it all. 270 songs are greyed out in Mixo. It missed 270 tracks and going through one by one and relocating is kinda crazy. I don't know why these weren't found. They're in the same folders as the many other songs it found just fine. When I re-scan it still doesn't link these tracks. Any thoughts to keep me from having to do this one at a time? Thanks!

In better news I’m having Claude fix them all. But still curious why it happened in the first place : /

Where did you import from? If a track is greyed out it means it can’t be found at the filepath during analysis or when playing the track.

They all exist on my laptop. And we’re all imported with iTunes (music). All exist in the same folder.

So after importing your iTunes XML, 270 tracks could not be found (probably during analysis)?

If you add the FilePath column, can you see what the issue is? Presumably the paths are slightly wrong. Maybe an encoding issues, for example if they contain special characters etc?

Well, like I mentioned, I'm able to go in one by one and relocate them, but like I said, I'm relocating them in the exact same folder that all the other files are in. It found 27,000 of them perfectly fine. Funnily enough, you mentioning adding the file path column, Claude did do that when it was picking up where I left off, and they all do appear to be in the same file path. I can look at that a little more closely tonight and share my findings! Thanks for the help!

Please do let me know what you find because if there's some sort of decoding issue where the paths end up slightly different to the paths in your XML then I will fix it.

Better still, if you can send me your original iTunes XML and tell me a couple of tracks that were not found after import, maybe I will be able to spot the issue.

You can upload your XML here:

Thanks!

Actually I think I have your XML from the other chat. Which tracks weren't found after import?

All good. I don’t recall which tracks after fixing them. Apppreciate it though!
