Serato -> Rekordbox: hot cue colors wrong

NAKU started this chat a year ago

Hello team,

I'm trying to start using rekordbox 7 with my existing Serato 3.2.4 library and came quite far. I managed to import the entire library into Mixo and all the metadata including cue colors show up correctly.

However, when I export a playlist to rekordbox (direct), the hot cue colors seem to be reverted to some kind of default color palette instead of the ones set by me.

Any hints how I can keep the customized colors? Thanks!

Hi there,

Yes you need to go to Preferences -> View -> Color tab and set the "HOT Cue color" to "CDJ".

Hi, thanks for the response. Unfortunately this doesn't solve the issue. If I switch to the CDJ color scheme all the CUEs are green and don't show any difference anymore.

Did you import those cue colours, or set them in MIXO?

Also, are you using the Direct Export, or XML?

I imported them from Serato and it looks like they're getting imported correctly (screenshot above).

I used direct export. Hope it helps...

Ah I've found the issue - it's incompatible cue colours from Serato! They should be getting converted but for some reason they're not.

I've get this sorted.

Ok I've fixed the colour mapping so now all Serato cue colours are converted the the closest Rekordbox cue colour.

I'll ping you when the next release is live.

Thanks for letting us know!

I have the same problem but in the Colour of the Track. In serato is RED and i export the track to Rekordbox and is Purple

That's because Serato uses a pastel colour palette and the colours are saved to the track tags. MIXO imports the colour exactly as it is but unfortunately it's a closer match to purple or pink, than red.

The solution is quite easy;

1. Sort your tracks by clicking the "Col" column in MIXO (you might need to add the column first).
2. Then select the first checkbox and shift-click the last checkbox of the same colour.
3. Right-click and select "Edit Tracks", then click the "Edit Track Color" button on the track info page, choose your colour and save in the top-right corner.

Once you've bulk-updated your colours, you can export to Rekordbox again.

Hi Remko, thanks so much for the lightning-fast implementation, it works now and I can see the assigned colors in RB!
