Hello everyone, I'm looking to purchase Mixo because I believe it will greatly help me with my playlists. However, I would appreciate some help on how to migrate my entire playlist, which is all in MP4 format and stored on an external hard drive. I currently use Virtual DJ on an external hard drive because having a large internal hard drive is impractical nowadays with Mac or iOS. My idea is to have an external hard drive just for DJY Pro. Is it possible to create something like a video or tutorial?

I'm going through the import process, but all the folders are empty. However, the MP4 files are mixed. What am I doing wrong? I can't upload an image for verification because it only allows images of 10MB.

When importing from VDJ, the database.xml files are located on the same drives as your tracks. That's why there are multiple paths on the import page. You should import them all.

If you know everything is on a particular drive, then after unchecking one drive, you need to click "REPARSE" first. In your screenshot that's still showing.

Also verify that the playlists actually contain tracks in VDJ and are not just folders on your file system.

These look like folders on your drive containing tracks, rather than playlists inside "MyLists" in VDJ.

Do you use the MyLists section in VDJ?

No, I don't use it.

So there are no playlists for MIXO to import. Normally, the virtual lists contain paths to all the tracks in order. If they don’t exist MIXO has nothing to import.

Your video only shows several folders of tracks outside the VirtualDJ folder.

So you're saying I need to create a collection in My List, instead of these folders like the ones in Favorites.

Yes, you've just marked system folders as favourites in VDJ. They are like bookmarks. They exist, but inside is just the path to the folder on your drive - see attached.

Here's the guide:

Please note: "The export location MUST be the 'Subcrates' folder on the same drive as your tracks. Just find the "Serato" folder on that drive and select the "Subcrates" folder before you export.".

If you have not used Serato before, you can let Serato generate the folders automatically by manually importing 1 track into Serato from your drive.

Then quit Serato and you will find the Subcrates folder on your drive where your music is. This is the folder you need to choose on export.

Thanks. I think the date was not imported from VDJ, so I have added that now (it will be imported into MIXO in the next release).

However, at the moment date added is not exported to Serato, so you will see today's date by default. We are working on improving this.

Perfect, I'll wait for the next update to continue migrating my music library, so it doesn't become a mess.

I can't guarantee if the export date to Serato will be in the next release though

Hi there, here's the latest beta version with a direct export and import with Serato's new database.

Before exporting, MIXO automatically creates a backup of the Serato databases found in the Serato/Library folder, but it's always worth doing your own backup.
