so I noticed a ton of added music in one of my playlists in EDJ the other day and narrowed it down to a mixo export

1. my main library is in EDJ used for my main flash drive export
2. I open MIXO, import EDJ library, all looks mirrored,
one playlist in particular has 168 tracks called Top40-2
3. I export to USB from MIXO using EDJ USB export option, all goes well
4. if I happen to now open EDJ on my lappet, all of a sudden like 200 additional random tracks get added to the Top40-2 playlist

not sure why this is happening, EDJ does have a bug where it adds deleted tracks from EDJ back in from a flash drive so I can see it adding the tracks but why is it doing this when the 200 added tracks were not in that playlist?

Im going to make a detailed video soon and ill post it so it makes more sense

So far I can't replicate. I do get duplication when exporting to USB, but that's because when you export to USB using Engine, it copies the local tracks to the USB and links them together by ID. When you export directly from MIXO it doesn't have the original tracks to link.

But that doesn't explain why you have different tracks altogether! I still need to understand how that's possible. I do have an idea though.

i wonder if the ID's are not matching somewhere, not that i have a clue, you are the expert

But yes, I suspect there is a mismatch in IDs happening somehow but not sure how that relates to export. I'll keep looking..

kinda the good news is i was able to reproduce on my work pc using my databases so its not just my macbook, definitely something in my MIXO or EDJ db. i keep using the "Top40-2"" and "MITZ" playlists as tests since they seem to be the only 2 so far doing this

these were the steps i did and i can either do a screen shot video and even send my mixo cloud login info if needed

1. opened mixo, fresh start, logged in to my account and cloud account
2. set the top40-2 and MITZ playlists to download and let all 200 or so tracks download locally to my pc
3. opened Engine with my databases from macbook (all tracks show missing obviously)
4. added the downloaded tracks to the mitz and top 40-2 playlists, analyzed and then closed
5. export those 2 playlists to usb using MIXO
6. open Engine after export and it throws random tacks in to those 2 playlists again as you can see in the pics attached

Is this the m.db from your local database, or the USB (where you exported to)?

Any chance you can send me your m.db from your main device that has the correct tracks in those playlists?

Why are you doing step 3? If you copy your m.db from another computer you'll be getting all sorts of weird issues.

Basically I can't replicate this issue the normal way so I suspect you're confusing the database by copying it from a other device.

Sorry for the delay. Crazy day at work. I need to open engine also because I export stem files maybe it’s just getting confused like u mentioned.

I was doing that just as a test to see if you can duplicate it.

I can see 30 tracks in MITZ in your m.db though! I'm really confused.

Also, I cannot work out how to add tracks to playlists in Engine DJ - I've reinstalled v5 from the website and I still can't drag tracks from the collection into any playlist! Smartlists work, but I can't manually add tracks to regular playlists. Have you ever seen this issue?

delete the 16-30 and when you sync mixo export and open Engine again the 16 reappear

i wouldn't go nuts, im probably the only one with the issue and i wont be really doing my workflow that way anyway, just something i caught that's happening

heres the m.db withthew right amount in MITZ, then i plug my flash drive in and it ads those 16 or so tracks in, i can make video of how im doing all this if it helps or we can close this and move on with our lives, LOL

If you delete those tracks that appear in Engine after plugging in your flashdrive, do they still come back?

yes, i did the following

1. open MITZ in engine, delete the last 16-30 tracks, close EDJ
2. open MIXO, import the mitz playlist again
3. formatted flash drive
4. export mixo mitz playlist via engine usb export in mixo
5. open engine and and after engine sees the flash drive, tracks 16-30 reappear and are added back to the playlist

The other m.db showed 0 tracks for me in MITZ, so I tried adding some of my own, exporting to a fresh USB. All works perfectly. I think I'm going to have to leave this one for now!

More than happy to revisit later if it's still happening. Ideally you should move your USB m.db to a backup folder and start fresh, even if just to test if it still happens. I suspect the tracks are lurking in that drive's database.
