Pre-sales questions:

1. I'm a Rekordbox Pro user. The cloud sync part of the software is absolute dog sh** and I need another method of ensuring my library is shared across 3 devices, main studio iMac, Macbook Pro and my iPhone. Rekordbox currently loses original track location, and for some reason will lose track of where a track exists which isn't great with a large library.

2. If I have Mixo on the devices mentioned, with two of them running Rekordbox, does Mixo create one library? And if I add a new track on say iMac, is that refelected in Mixo on the Macbook and iPhone. If that is the case, how is Rekordbox on the iMac and Macbook maintained, is this a manual update by way of an export into Rekordbox on each machine when changes are made or is it automated?

3. Does Mixo maintain links to the original tracks or is everything copied to Mixo's cloud folder, leaving the original track in its current location (NAS drive)?

4. How does Mixo Mirror mode work where the Rekordbox library is already copied to the cloud?

Hi there!

The idea behind MIXO is that you generally maintain a 'master' library on your main computer, and sync multiple devices with it. Changes you make on any device is synced to all devices.

You can download individual playlists and on desktop you also have the option to download all tracks in your library via Settings/Cloud. Once downloaded, it means they play faster and can be exported to DJ software (because streaming sucks and they only work in MIXO anyway).

You can also add new tracks on synced desktop devices but I guess it makes things more complicated if you have local and streaming tracks in each library. That's why we suggest having a setup like this:

Studio Mac --> master library where you import local tracks (or from external drive etc).
DJ Laptop --> synced, can manage your library, download tracks and export to DJ apps when required.
Mobile Phone --> synced, edit ratings, playlists, cue points and enjoy your music on the go!

When you import, MIXO will automatically upload your tracks to your cloud storage so they are streamable or downloadable on your other devices.

Any change made to your tracks or playlists etc are synced so you'll receive them immediately when you load MIXO on any other device.

Mirror Mode - basically deletes everything in your MIXO library that is not in the library you're about to import. The benefit of this is that MIXO does not delete from DJ apps. So if you've made a tonne of changes in Rekordbox, like deleting playlists and tracks, mirror mode will ensure your MIXO library matches your Rekordbox library if you Import Everything.

Generally though, you can just run an Import and MIXO will update everything and import anything new.
