Have a few questions: 1. Does you export to USB specifically one library run faster than natively in Rekordbox or dj pro? 2. Do you have an expert option that will reach the custom playlists and put them into an exporter friendly structure complete with copies of the music too

The time it takes to export to USB is mainly limited by the number of tracks to transfer and the write speed of the drive. For this reason it’s probably the same, although having tested various methods of transferring the tracks we use the fastest. In terms of operational speed, when reading the drive in hardware, it will also be the same because it’s limited by the read speed of the drive. There’s no magic for either of these cases.

The concept of number 2 is to be able to create a windows explorer friendly structure of your custom playlists into folders with the music files being copied into their corresponding playlists, kinda like a complete snapshot of your library but in a way that is just the playlists as folders with the music for contents. Part of the logic of this is that on my iPad I can add Dropbox locations and instead local on the iPad I can connect my dj pro to the Dropbox location and have the files there ready to go. The behind the scenes is basically read the database file, create the folder structure at the location of the users choosing, then read the playlists and their contents and copy each file to the destination chosen, I’ve done something similar with lexicon dj, but it was all on my own. Does one of Mixo’s export options support this

By default, the Rekordbox USB export follows the same pattern as Rekordbox itself, whereby the tracks are moved into nested folders: Artist/Album.

However, MIXO has a feature on desktop for moving and renaming your files in Tools -> Move & Rename. Here you can organise your files into specific folders, with specific naming patterns. You can choose to update all at once, or select specific playlists at a time. The only thing it doesn't do is use playlist names for folder nesting. I'm not sure how desirable that would be for the mainstream!

when I built it was a backup option that would allow me to quickly rebuild playlists, and also, access via my own synology server for playback (like a radio) and I also sync that export to dropbox which then I can add dropbox as a location into my dj pro for use primarly on my ipad so I don't have to store files in the limited memory of an ipad for use with my reloop mixon 8 pro, but I also run Engine with a Prime 4+
