my leading music-folders are on my Synology-NAS tha syncs them to a hosted Nextcloud . How can I use this scenario for syncing Mixo to different machines and Mobiles without having to upload all music again?

Do you access your music from different devices using a specific http route (eg streaming directly from Nextcloud), or are the Nextcloud folders synced locally on each device?

The NAS syncs to the internet and the local network-devices sync to/from the NAS. Mobile syncs from/to the internet aka NextCloud.

So local network-devices (eg multiple computers) sync both ways with the NAS.
The NAS syncs both ways with Nextcloud.
Mobile devices sync directly both ways with Nextcloud.

Is that right?

I think we might be able to do something, similar to the new M3U find/replace feature, for local network devices. Perhaps a global setting that be added on each device that does a find/replace on the filePaths when playing/exporting etc. That way you can handle different Drive letters on different Windows devices, plus combine Mac devices etc.

But it will be more difficult for mobile because it probably needs an access token, right?

Ah actually if you're using the Nextcloud mobile app we should be able to access the files directly and the Nextcloud app will handle the auth. It should be possible on iOS and Android but the question is how to link the files to your synced data...

Presumably the files in Nextcloud have the same folder paths and filenames as on desktop, it's just the first part that's different, right?

Also, can you import tracks from the NAS into MIXO?

Windows: D:\music\collection\artist\artist - title (album) and D:\music\dj collection\artist - title (album)

I could, but of course I have them on the local drive D: on my DJ-Laptop.

But moving forward you'd want to have them only on the NAS, right?

The idea is this:

- You import music into MIXO that contains NAS paths.
- MIXO global settings replaces the drive.
- Each local device is able to play tracks directly from the NAS.

Unless you also need to access music over the cloud on those devices. Then I need to rethink!

Well, in the club I need the files local in traktor. Maybe I have to rethink that a bit.
