im literally trying to just use Mixo as a playlist/library management program. i don't want ANY analysis at all.

when I import the folder I de-tick the Analysis button. And it STILL tries to analyse. What's great here is I have 110k+ songs in my collection. And your app essentially hammers my Macbook Air (M2) to the point I can't navigate Mixo to stop the operation or do anything at all. I literally have to close the app using my Activity Monitor.

honestly i can't even manage to delete the imported tracks/playlists/folders because your app is such a vibecoded fucking piece of shit.

MIXO is designed to help DJs with their workflow, not make it harder. If something is not working as expected, of course we want to know about it, but not like this. There really is no need for abusive language and if you read the other threads you’ll see that we are all fellow DJs, collectively trying to make MIXO better through positive ideas and feedback.

Turning off waveform analysis for track imports massively speeds up analysis but MIXO still needs to analyse the tracks because that’s where the metadata comes from! Full analysis includes decoding the whole audio to build the waveform and analyse missing BPM etc.

If your MacBook is locking up during analysis, even without waveform analysis, that’s unusual since it’s optimised to use 70% of your CPU background threads (which you can adjust). Of course, the fewer threads available the less optimisation you can do but I would lower it if you’re having performance issues.

You can find this setting in Settings/Advanced - Import section, then just move the simultaneous analysis slider.

If you really need to stop it, you can also Cancel Import at any time during the Analysis step on the Import/Progress page. Clicking the analysis progress in the top left notification area takes you straight there. However, don’t forget to analyse them later to import all the metadata.

So in summary:

1. Please avoid abusive language, we are only a very small team trying to help.

2. Analysis is required to read metadata from your tracks (when importing tracks directly).

3. You can reduce the strain on your computer by lowering the Simultaneous Track Analysis setting.
